Title: CT Scan Technologist CWR

Location: Onsite - Hackensack, NJ

Job Summary

The CT Technologist performs CT procedures and produces diagnostic sectional and 3D images. The position is responsible for preparing and positioning patients, reviewing clinical history and prescriptions, following appropriate CT protocols, administering contrast media, performing venipuncture and IV procedures, monitoring patients, and ensuring diagnostic image quality through PACS.

The CT Technologist works collaboratively with Radiologists and Referring Physicians, provides appropriate patient instructions, maintains accurate documentation, and supports patient care across different age groups and populations.

Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Performing CT procedures and producing diagnostic sectional/3D images

• Preparing and positioning patients for CT scans

• Reviewing patient clinical history and prescriptions

• Following appropriate CT protocols and coordinating with Radiologists/Referring Physicians when clarification is required

• Administering contrast media as prescribed

• Performing venipuncture and maintaining IV access

• Monitoring patients for adverse reactions

• Reviewing images through PACS for identification and diagnostic quality

• Coordinating outside studies/CDs and ensuring availability in PACS

• Providing appropriate patient instructions and addressing patient concerns

• Maintaining accurate documentation in EPIC/PACS

• Supporting patient care across different age groups and populations

• Participating in on-call, overtime, holiday, and weekend coverage as required

Physical/Work Requirements

• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs.

• Ability to push/pull at least 50 lbs.

• Ability to stand for a minimum of 6 hours per day

Required Experience

Candidates must have the following:

• CT Technologist experience

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program

• High School Diploma/GED

• NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License

• ARRT - R.T.(R) certification/license

• American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiological positioning

• Strong knowledge of CT equipment, software, and procedures

• Thorough knowledge of PACS

• Ability to perform complex CT procedures

• Experience with contrast administration, venipuncture, and IV procedures

• Ability to review patient history, prescriptions, and CT protocols

• Ability to work scheduled shifts, including holidays/weekends and on-call assignments as required

Preferred Qualifications

• ARRT - R.T.(CT) certification preferred

• Minimum 6 months of CT experience preferred

• Experience with EPIC

• Experience with HIS/RIS systems

• Maintains required CEU credits

Working Conditions

Position may be based in a hospital or ambulatory/mobile imaging setting. Exposure to radiation, high-voltage equipment, and infectious diseases is possible with appropriate safety precautions. Position may require assisting with patient transfers and moving equipment.
