Department: MCR CT Scanning
Work Schedule: Full Time, 80 hours per pay period (2 weeks)
Shift: Nights
Compensation: $37.35 - $52.29 per hour, based on the applicant's relevant experience. This role is strictly onsite and does not offer remote or hybrid options.
Position Summary
The role involves providing computed tomography imaging services in alignment with the relevant standards of practice, as well as the organization's policies, values, and mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Review patient medical history and physician orders, and manage scheduling.
- Educate patients about procedures, equipment, and examinations to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
- Prepare and administer contrast media and/or medications as required, within the scope of practice.
- Continuously monitor patient conditions and respond to any changes appropriately.
- Prepare necessary equipment and supplies, selecting suitable exposure factors and imaging parameters.
- Implement safety protocols and conduct quality control checks on equipment.
- Troubleshoot and report any equipment malfunctions as needed.
- Position patients and carry out imaging procedures.
- Analyze imaging results, identify quality issues, and take corrective actions, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures if necessary.
- Enter, transmit, and report scan results, with potential for 3-D post-processing.
- Utilize critical thinking and decisive judgment while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) and either registered or eligible for registry completion within 12 months in computed tomography (CT) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). State licensure as required by law.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, with the card in hand before the start date. The BLS or CPR card must remain valid for at least sixty days post-hire.
