Job Description Summary:
The Computed Tomography Technologist (CT Technologist) is a highly skilled professional, who is confident in producing multiplane images for interpretation by the radiologist. The CT Technologist operates specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of patients human anatomy which aid the radiologist in the diagnosis of a wide variety of diseases and disorders. The CT Technologist will be knowledgeable with the CT scanner and understand how to manipulate scans to accommodate for patients size, motion, and to reduce any undesirable artifacts. All CT Technologists will follow departmental policy and procedures in regards to ALARA, possible pregnancy, and scanning protocols as directed by the radiologist. Taking stand-by may be a necessary responsibility according to hospital needs.
This is a journey-level position for a CT Technologist with at least two years of acute care hospital facility employment experience. A Computerized Tomography Technologist is a radiologic technologist who possesses the CRT, ARRT, and Fluoroscopy certifications, and must obtain a Computerized Tomography (C.T.) certification within 12 months of hire.
