CT TECHNOLOGIST - 24 HOURS WEEKLY - AFTERNOON SHIFT
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, specializes in the performance of computerized tomographic radiological procedures on patients. May perform general diagnostic radiology examinations. Performs related duties as required.
- Explains examination procedure to patients and prepares patient for the examination.
- Manually controls the equipment to obtain the proper diagnostic information from the area of the body being studied.
- Administers intravenous contrast media to including utilization of power injectors. Monitors patient for possible reactions as appropriate to the study and provides immediate care to patient if a reaction should occur.
- Prepare and set up sterile equipment, monitors, and supplies required for the procedure to be performed. Ensures the adequate supplies are on hand and properly stored.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
- Must maintain the required hours of continued education.
- Healthcare Provider certification required.
- (BCLS) BLS Provider obtained within one (1) month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:
One or more of the following:
Nuclear Medical Tech credentialed from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
NMTCB (CD Computed Tomography Specialty Certification
or ARRT(CT) Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography required in addition to CNMT Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification.
Radiologic Technologist specializing in Computed Tomography credentialed from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Must be registered in Computer Tomography within 12 months of date of hire.
Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy specialty also accepted.
