CT Technologist (2nd Shift)

Job Description

CT Technologist is responsible for the production of diagnostic images for interpretation by the radiologist; the employee should have knowledge regarding the utilization of equipment and be able to make adjustments in technique and patient positioning to provide images of excellent quality.

Department: CT Scanning

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours a week required: Rotating holiday and weekends

Shift: 2nd

Required: AS Degree, BLS, IEMA, ARRT (R) (CT) within in one year of hire

Pay: Based on experience, starting at $32.10 an hour

$10,000 sign on bonus

Responsibilities

Accurate image identification., Assures accuracy and high quality images., Completes continuing education on CT specific safety annually., Obtains proper consent for procedures., Performs CT exams by setting, adjusting, manipulating, and controlling a variety of complex electronic equipment., Performs intravenous injection of contrast media products under the guidance of the Radiologist., Provides proper documentation in patient chart of radiation dose and contrast use., Remains current regarding knowledge of Creatinine & GFR levels to aid in determining the use of contrast. Understands criteria, normal vs. elevated levels, protocols to follow for abnormal levels, and consults w/ physician or nurse as appropriate., Utilizes PACS and HIS system to archive and record patient data., Utilizes proper radiation safety techniques to scan patients and provide excellent quality at minimal dose.

Requirements

Associate's Degree (Required)ARRT - Computed Tomography (CT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), ARRT-CT (Computed Tomography) (within 1 year of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln, ARRT - Radiography (R) - (within 1 year of hire) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), BLS or CPR certification (within 90 days of hire) - Sarah Bush Lincoln, IEMA - Illinois Emergency Management Agency - State of Illinois
