    Description

    Job Overview: The CT Technologist is responsible for performing CT scans to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. They ensure the production of high-quality images and provide excellent patient care during the imaging process.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Interpret physician orders and execute CT scans accordingly.
    • Explain the CT scan process to patients and answer any questions they may have.
    • Position patients properly to obtain optimal images.
    • Administer contrast dyes intravenously when necessary.
    • Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure accurate diagnoses can be made.
    • Maintain patient records and update medical information in the system.
    • Clean, disinfect, and maintain CT equipment and work area.
    • Manage inventory of supplies and reorder as needed.
    • Adhere to safety protocols and radiation dose standards to ensure patient and staff safety.

    Qualifications:

    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
    • Proficiency in operating CT scanning equipment.
    • Strong understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.
    • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    Education and Experience:

    • Associates degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
    • Minimum of one year of experience as a CT Technologist preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to lift and position patients.
    • Capability to stand for extended periods.

    Work Environment:

    • Hospital or clinical setting with exposure to radiation.
    • Must wear protective gear and follow safety guidelines.
