Position Summary:

Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis following departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Performs routine imaging examinations in CT on a scheduled and emergency basis.
  • Reviews and evaluates requisitions for CT imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for CT examinations.
  • Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
  • Performs basic imaging analysis (e.g. 3D).
  • Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
  • Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develops plan for adjusting to patients' specific needs.
  • Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
  • Consistently provides exceptional care and exceptional service.
  • Follows Departmental QC/Exam Data Integrity Workflow Expectations.
  • Practices High Reliability Training.

  • Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.

Equipment

  • Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions.

Operations

  • Assists in organizing and maintaining daily operations of section.

  • Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
  • Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Complies with HIPAA regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: 
Associates degree, Allied Health. Bachelors degree preferred.
Experience:
1 year of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist
Licensure/ Certifications:
1. RT/CT registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
2. Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARRT certification.
3. BLS certification.
