Pay Rate: $64 - $75 per hour
Summary:
Responsibilities:
- Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
- Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper functioning before any patient study.
- Inject patients with radioactive material as per physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
- Observe all department documentation policies by filling in all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, and report equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
- Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, following radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.
- Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
- Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
- Receive radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of the dose prior to administration.
Requirements:
- Licensing with NYS DOH in Radiologic Technologist.
- ARRT certification in Radiography and CT.
- BLS certification.
- At least 1 year of CT experience.
- Graduate of Radiologic Technologist program.
Preferred Skills:
- Perform CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
- Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs prior to, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
