What You’ll Do
As a CT Technologist, you’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging while creating a safe, compassionate, and positive experience for every patient. You’ll work closely with physicians, nurses, and imaging staff to ensure accurate imaging, seamless workflow, and outstanding care.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care & Safety
- Verify patient identity and imaging orders to ensure accuracy and safety
- Confirm pregnancy status and evaluate patients for potential contrast media allergies or adverse reactions
- Review lab values and educate patients on potential risks, effect/side effects and benefits of contrast media and radiation exposure
- Position patients respectfully and comfortably with care and precision to achieve optimal imaging results and ensure the correct anatomical area is scanned
- Monitor patient comfort and respond to concerns with professionalism and empathy
CT Imaging & Contrast Administration
- Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures following established protocols
- Administer IV and oral contrast media safely and effectively
- Start IV lines and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Prepare and operate CT equipment, select appropriate exposure factos while following ALARA radiation safety principles
- Ensure images meet quality standards and are transferred promptly to PACS
- Perform procedural timeouts and use sterile/aseptic techniques as required
Collaboration & Workflow
- Partner with radiologists, nursing teams, the Emergency Department, scheduling and other departments to provide seamless patient care
- Guide patients through procedures with clear communication while addressing questions and concerns with compassion and professionalism.
- Support efficient scheduling and accommodate urgent or add-on exams when needed
- Foster positive, professional relationships with patients, physicians, and fellow technologists through respectful and collaborative communication.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in QA and Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives
- Assist with developing, updating and improving imaging protocols
- Support accreditation processes, department projects, and inventory management
- Communicate equipment concerns proactively to leadership and service vendors
Team Support & Professional Growth
- Assist in orienting and mentoring new team members
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented department culture
- Partner with lead technologists to promote ongoing education, skill enhancement, and professional development within the team.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable State of Montana, DNV, CMS, ARRT, and ASRT regulations and standards.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
- Minimum of 1 year of CT experience OR successful completion of a CT cross-training program
- Eligible for registration with ARRT in CT certification within 12 months of hire
- Current Montana Radiologic Technologist permit
- Current BLS certification
