Starting Salary: $45.00+

Available Shifts:

  • Day Shift - Begins at 10:30 AM
  • Evening Shift - 3 PM to 11 PM
  • Mid Shift - 12:30 PM to 11 PM
  • Options for 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts

Work Hours: Choose from 24, 30, 36, or 40-hour weekly options

Additional pay available through shift differentials.

Job Overview:

This position involves utilizing various imaging techniques to assist in diagnosing and treating patients. Key responsibilities include performing CT scans to capture images of internal organs, bones, and soft tissues. This role requires specialized knowledge and skills acquired through vocational education, training, and experience, primarily focused on patient care and scientific/laboratory tasks. It is an experienced-level position that necessitates a foundational understanding of job procedures and tools, typically gained through prior work experience and vocational or technical education. The role operates under moderate supervision, addressing routine issues while occasionally requiring interpretation or deviation from standard protocols, and involves communication that may need some explanation.

Job Responsibilities:

The following duties outline the general nature of the work and are not exhaustive; additional responsibilities may be assigned:

  • Independently conduct CT scans on patients as per established policies and radiological standards.
  • Confirm patient identity and the procedure to be performed.
  • Provide clear and precise instructions to patients.
  • Ensure correct imaging protocols, steps, and scanner settings for each patient.
  • Maintain safety for both patients and staff regarding CT equipment.
  • Confirm IV access and administer IV contrast as needed.
  • Engage in ongoing education and training.
  • Perform quality control checks on equipment and devices as required.
  • Coordinate with other staff and departments to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Manage supply inventory and request orders when necessary.
  • Keep work areas clean and functional in compliance with DPH and The Joint Commission standards.
  • May mentor students and assist new technologists.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent standing, occasional sitting, walking, and lifting of 30-35 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for operating radiology equipment.
  • Hearing and visual acuity sufficient for performing examinations, monitoring patients, reading displays, and hearing equipment alarms.
  • Potential exposure to bodily fluids and communicable diseases.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of radiologic equipment, examinations, and procedures.
  • Familiarity with radiation safety protocols.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Strong customer service abilities.
  • Capability to organize tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
