Position Overview:
This role involves conducting computerized tomography procedures aimed at diagnosing illnesses and injuries, adhering to protocols set by radiologists. The candidate must be proficient in at least three of the following procedures: biopsy, TAVR, coronary interventions, Watchman procedures, extremity work for operating room planning, ablations, or fiducial placements.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements:
Primary Duties:
- Accurately prepares and positions patients while selecting appropriate anatomical and technical parameters.
- Prepares and administers contrast agents and/or medications in compliance with the accepted scope of practice and relevant state and federal regulations.
- Monitors patients during procedures, reporting any unusual activity, and suggests updates or improvements to protocols as necessary.
- Adheres to radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
- Maintains a vigilant and safe working environment.
- Performs additional tasks as assigned.
Educational Background:
- Completion of a program in Radiology Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy.
Experience:
- No prior experience is necessary.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
For the state of employment (Missouri, Oklahoma):
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- And one of the following:
- ARRT-R Radiography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- ARRT-T Radiation Therapy - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- ARRT-N Nuclear Medicine Technologist - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
- And:
- ARRT-CT Computed Tomography - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Or Computed Tomography (CT) Credential - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
