Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts Available: Varied (Monday (Nights), Thursday and Friday (Days)

Hours: 12-hour shifts – 7:00pm to 7:30am or 7:00am to 7:30pm (17% diff in pay)

Location: St Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO

 

We are seeking a CT Technologist, sometimes referred to as a Radiologic Technologist II (Rad Tech).  As a CT Technologist you will specialize and be responsible for operating CT scanners and X-ray machines to produce cross-sectional images of patient’s internal organs and tissues. You will assist in diagnosing medical conditions and the treatment plan process, by producing high-quality images that help healthcare providers make informed decisions about our patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

  • Prepare patients for their X-ray, CT or MRI scans by explaining the procedures, addressing any concerns or questions, and ensuring that patients are comfortable
  • Operate MRI equipment, CT scanners and/or X-ray machines to obtain images of the targeted body parts, which may involve adjusting scanner settings to optimize image quality while minimizing radiation exposure, radiation safety at all times
  • Assist other radiologists, as you will work closely with them, who interpret the images you produced, you may also assist in administering contrast agents or perform certain procedures
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols to protect both patients and you from potential hazards associated with MRI technology, such as strong magnetic fields
  • Responsible for maintaining radiologic supplies, making sure the equipment is in good operating order, and following protocols regarding infection control and hygiene
Qualifications:
  • Radiology/ CT license as required by State
  • ARRT-CT Certification is required
  • Must possess and maintain BCLS (AHA) upon hire
  • Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic / Fluoroscopic equipment is required
  • Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required
  • Proficient computer skills
  • One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred
