CT Technologist Days/Evenings

Location: Mount Pleasant SC

Employment Type: Full-time | Days/Evenings (Call, weekend, and holiday coverage as needed)

About the Role

Under the supervision of certified radiologists, the CT Technologist produces diagnostic computerized tomography radiographs to assist in patient evaluation. This role involves direct patient care, operating specialized imaging equipment, and mentoring student Radiologic Technologists.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures following established protocols and physician orders.

  • Maintain patient safety and comfort, utilizing age-appropriate care and strict ALARA radiation safety guidelines.

  • Educate patients on procedures, obtain informed consent, and communicate discharge instructions to families.

  • Manage imaging equipment efficiently to minimize repeat examinations and reduce material waste.

  • Accurately log patient data, clinical history, and orders into the system; collaborate directly with radiologists on findings.

  • Assist with departmental administration, student technologist supervision, and team operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education & Licensure: Active state/professional Radiologic Technologist licensure required.

  • Experience: Demonstrated ability to perform diagnostic CT exams; experience mentoring or teaching preferred.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of ALARA principles and OSHA, DHEC, FDA, and TJC standards.

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proficiency with standard office and medical computer systems.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, walking, and patient transfers; intermittent lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. Fine motor dexterity and constant arm reach required.

  • Environment: Exposure to clinical environments, including radiation, blood-borne pathogens, communicable diseases, and chemicals.

  • Schedule: Requires flexibility for stressful conditions, tight deadlines, and potential call rotations.
