Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper functioning before any patient study is conducted.
Inject patients with radioactive material as per physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
Observe all department documentation policies by completing logs, manuals, charge documents, and reporting equipment issues to comply with regulatory agencies.
Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, following radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.
Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses 1-day prior to use.
Receive radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of the dose prior to administration.
Requirements:
At least 1 year of CT experience.
Graduate of an JCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology.
New York State License (L.R.T).
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified).
BLS certification.
Preferred Skills:
Perform CT procedures according to the prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
