CT Technologist

Pay Rate: $65.00 per hour - $75.00 per hour
Location: New York, NY
Work Schedule: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Summary:

• Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
• Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure proper functioning before patient studies.
• Inject patients with radioactive material as per the physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
• Observe all department documentation policies by filling in logs, manuals, charge documents, and reporting equipment problems.
• Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, following radiation safety guidelines to comply with ALARA principle.
• Maintain and develop patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
• Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.
• Receive radiopharmaceuticals on day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure. Verify activity level of the dose prior to administration.

Requirements:

• Graduate of a JCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• New York State License (L.R.T).
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT Certified).

Preferred Skills:

• Perform CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
• Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patient’s needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.
