Candidate will be placed in the necessary salary grade and title based on background and experience. CT Technologist (Advanced and Multi-Skill Levels AvailableUPMC Passavant is seeking a skilled CT Technologist to perform imaging procedures independently, without constant supervision. As a competent professional, you'll apply ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes, demonstrating judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.Responsibilities:Conduct computed tomography (CT procedures using established scan protocols, including contrast administration, with minimal supervision.Operate complex imaging equipment for data acquisition, analysis, reconstruction, and documentation, adhering to protocols.Ensure accurate coding and tracking of all exams within your responsibility area via the RIS system. Network exams to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and enter charges appropriately.Administer PO, rectal, and IV contrast as per physician orders and department policy. Assess patients for potential risk factors before contrast administration.Communicate instructions to patients clearly and concisely, alleviating fears and encouraging cooperation.Independently adjust protocols for technical procedures, applying ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic CT purposes.Interact effectively with patients and colleagues, demonstrating care, active listening, dignity, and respect. Collaborate across departments to expedite patient care.Properly identify patients using two identifiers and follow universal protocol during procedures. Review patient history and apply departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition. Document patient history in electronic records.Demonstrate correct venipuncture technique and use power injectors according to departmental or manufacturer protocols.Qualifications - InternalGraduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or completion of accredited CNMT program. ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT registry within 6 months of hire date. CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired. CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT registry within 6 months of hire date.Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:ARRT certified as a Radiologic Technologist is required or certified by a CNMT program. ARRT registry eligible technologist must obtain ARRT registry within 6 months of hire date. CT registry must be acquired within 18 months of the date the primary registry was acquired or date of hire if primary registry is already obtained. CNMT graduates must obtain CNMT registry within 6 months of hire date. CPR or BLS Required.
