Summit Diagnostic Imaging Center at Wellington is recruiting for a CT Technologist. This is a PRN opportunity.
Examples of Duties (List does not include all duties assigned)
- Prepares patients for CT procedures. Uses universal precautions on all patients.
- Provides pertinent information to radiologist, which will contribute to the plan of care.
- Discusses with patients the process to be followed in performing the CT procedures; Obtains patients' signatures for consent forms and other paperwork as needed.
- Obtains optimum quality CT scans with appropriate measurements, windows and other special functions for interpretation by radiologist.
- Monitors intravenous contrast injections. Uses CT injector.
- Provides radiation protection to patients in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Makes sound decisions based on judgment within scope of their ability on technical or patient related problems.
- Assists in quality control of the equipment by contacting appropriate personnel and notifies supervisor as required.
- Maintains daily log of patients, assists in compiling monthly statistical data, and assists with other documentation and / or reporting as requested.
- Maintains cleanliness and order of CT department and equipment. Uses proper cleaning technique, disposes of contaminated needles properly and maintains adequate supplies.
- Maintains item stock and orders supplies as needed.
- Performs all duties while exhibiting a courteous and cooperative manner to all coworkers, management and the public.
- Demonstrates current competencies related to job position. Maintains current CPR certification, CME requirements, and technical certification.
- Adheres to all aspects of the company's Corporate Compliance Program.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the
implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
- Performs related tasks as requested by supervisor.
Education
Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiologic Technology, Radiation Therapy, or Nuclear Medicine. Certified.
Experience
Two years' experience in CT technology preferred.
Certification/License
Has current state license.
