Job Overview: Travel CT Technologist

  • Designations: Level 1 Trauma Center, Chest Pain Center, Stroke Center

Department & Volume

  • Daily Patient Census:

    • Main Reynolds Tower (24/7): 80–110 patients/day

    • Cancer Center: 60–80 patients/day

  • Support Staff: CT Supervisor on-site (Note: 3rd shift works independently)

  • Floating Requirements: Must float between the Main Reynolds Tower and the Cancer Center

Candidate Requirements

Experience & Certifications

  • Minimum Experience: 1 year of dedicated CT experience

  • First-Time Travelers: Accepted (provided they meet the minimum CT experience)

  • Required Certifications: ARRT-CT and BLS

Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Core Skills: Routine and arterial scans, IV starts, radiation safety, teammate communication.

  • Patient Care: Handling inpatients, pediatrics, ICU/trauma patients, sliding/ceiling patient lifts, and managing lines, drains, and tubing.

  • Advanced Procedures: Code stroke protocols, administering contrast through peripheral IVs, power ports, and PICC lines.

  • Operational Duties: Running the desk, facilitating workflow, dispatching for patients, and answering phones in a high-volume, quick-paced environment.

  • Preferred (Not Required): Cardiac experience, procedure experience, and experience with Siemens Alpha Photon Counting technology.

    • Siemens Flash

    • Siemens Force

    • Siemens Alpha Photon Counting

    • Client Discovery

Schedule, Call, & Orientation

  • On-Call Requirements: One weekend call rotation per 13-week assignment (Saturday and Sunday, 07:00 AM – 07:00 PM).

  • Weekend Rotation: None outside of the designated call assignment.

  • Holiday Requirements: At least 1 holiday during the 13-week contract is preferred.

  • Orientation Process:

    • New Employee Orientation (NEO)

    • 2 days of departmental orientation

    • First 2 weeks focused on training on the department's specific scanner fleet.
