General Definition of Work
The central office CTE coordinator (CTE coordinator CO) operates under intermittent supervision and engages in intermediate-level tasks with limited decision-making authority supporting Career and Technical Education (CTE) and facilitating career development, special populations, and instructional management services for CTE students and teachers at the district level. This role involves collaboration with the NCDPI, central office CTE administrators, central office SPCs, central office CIMCs, central office CDCs, school-based CTE coordinators, student services personnel, and teachers to ensure that instructional support is effectively delivered to CTE teachers. The primary responsibility of the CTE coordinator CO is to assist school-based CTE coordinators in the proper implementation of career development, special populations, and curriculum and instructional management services in the schools they support. The coordinator performs district-level duties to execute Board of Education policies under the guidance of the CTE director.

Implement and monitor CTE school-level plans that have weekly, monthly, and annual curriculum and instructional management, special populations, and career development accountability metrics for assigned school(s) that align with NCDPI CTE and the CMS Board of Education goals
Implement and monitor school-level plans that align with the NCDPI Curriculum and Instruction Management Coordinator job description
Implement and monitor school-level budget plans for consumables, equipment, professional development, field trips to include accountability targets, expectations, and reporting periods that align with curriculum and instructional management
Implement and monitor school-level plans that align with the NCDPI Special Populations job description.
Implement and monitor CTE school-level plans for career development to include the following:
Implement, and monitor CTE district-level plans, accountability targets, expectations, and reporting periods that develop, coordinate, promote, and execute 5th-grade, middle school, and high school CTE career development services, career awareness, and exploration activities for school-based CTE coordinators and middle school career development coordinators
Research and provide career development, occupational, labor market, non-traditional career, and post-secondary information to increase 5th-grade, middle school, and high school student awareness
Implement, and monitor district-level CTE plans, accountability targets, expectations, and reporting periods for school-based CTE coordinators and middle school career development coordinators to coordinate 5th-grade, middle school, and high school career planning assessments and activities in schools with CTE programs
Implement, and monitor district-level CTE plans, targets, expectations, and reporting periods for school-based CTE coordinators and middle school career development coordinators that increase middle and high school chapters of career & technical student organizations (CTSOs)
Implement, and monitor the coordination of district career awareness events such as: the Students@Work Initiative, CMS Endless Possibilities Fair, Futures Fair
Implement, and monitor accountability targets, expectations, and reporting periods for school-based CTE coordinators and middle school career development for the use of career readiness tools like NCcareers.org, Naviance, and Transfr VR to increase student matriculation into middle school CTE courses and high school career pathways
Implement, and monitor district-level plans for central office CTE coordinators and middle school career development coordinators to organize activities for 5th-grade, middle school, and high school students to learn about post-secondary education programs, employment opportunities, and develop employability skills
Facilitate business, education, and community partnerships that provide opportunities for all CTE students in the CMS district
Implement, and monitor district-level plans for school-based CTE coordinators and middle school career development coordinators to provide summer career exploration opportunities for CTE students
Serve as a district-level liaison with the business, industry, education, and military community
Implement, and monitor district-level budget plans for school-based CTE coordinators and middle school career development coordinators for consumables, equipment, and field trips to include accountability targets, expectations, and reporting periods that align with student career development
Publicize partnership resources
Participate in professional development activities at the local, regional, state, and national levels
Interpret student data for the district
Perform safety functions/drills to maintain a safe instructional environment. Take all necessary safety precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
Perform related work as assigned or required

Education and Experience - This position is a multi-license role that must possess the following 3 CTE support role licenses: Curriculum and Instructional Management Coordinator, Special Populations Coordinator, and Career Development Coordinator. Need the Education/Experience requirements for the CO CTE Coordinator, not for the other positions listed below.
