    Job Summary

    This position is for a high school teacher who prepares students for careers in healthcare. The teacher focuses on subjects such as nursing fundamentals, medical assisting, and health sciences. Working under the school principal, the teacher creates a safe, supportive, and engaging learning environment where all students can succeed.

    The goal of this role is to help students gain the knowledge and hands-on skills needed for careers in healthcare and to prepare them for real-world medical settings.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Teach career-focused classes in health sciences, nursing, and medical assisting
    • Supervise students during hands-on clinical experiences in healthcare settings
    • Help students understand real-world topics such as healthcare, family needs, and workplace responsibilities
    • Maintain an organized and well-managed classroom and lab environment
    • Monitor student progress and adjust lessons to meet different learning needs
    • Support student participation in Career and Technical Education (CTE) organizations and competitions
    • Organize and attend field trips to colleges, hospitals, and other healthcare workplaces
    • Help develop and promote innovative career and technical education programs
    • Build partnerships with local healthcare providers and community organizations to support student learning

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor''s degree, Associate''s degree, or a 3-year diploma in a related field such as:
    • Nursing
    • Medical Assisting
    • Physical or Occupational Therapy
    • Respiratory Therapy
    • Dental Hygiene
    • Biotechnology or Biology-related fields

    Experience Requirements (for certain licensure routes)

    • 2 years of related experience with a Bachelor''s or Associate''s degree
    • 4 years with a diploma (specific programs required)

    Examples of Relevant Experience

    • Nurse in a hospital, clinic, long-term care, or home health setting
    • Work in a doctor''s office or public health department
    • Clinical or outpatient healthcare experience
    • Biomedical engineer or working in a biotechnology-related field
