Position Title: CTE Middle School Teacher

Location: Split Position - Moyock and Currituck County Middle School

Job Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Principal and CTE Director

Start Date: August 10, 2026

Overview: Currituck County Schools seeks a dynamic and dedicated Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teacher to join our team. This position plays a crucial role in preparing students for success in a variety of career related education through innovative teaching methods and real-world application.

Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development:
  • Design and develop engaging curriculum aligned with state standards and CTE frameworks.
  • Integrate industry trends and technological advancements into lesson plans to ensure relevance and practical application.
  • Instructional Delivery:
  • Deliver effective instruction using a variety of teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration among students.
  • Hands-on Learning:
  • Provide opportunities for hands-on learning experiences, projects, and simulations that mimic real-world business scenarios.
  • Incorporate technology tools and applications into lessons to enhance student understanding and proficiency.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
  • Implement formative and summative assessments to measure student learning and progress effectively.
  • Provide timely feedback to students to support their academic growth and development.
  • Professional Development:
  • Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends, teaching methodologies, and educational technologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Partnerships and Community Engagement:
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local businesses, industry professionals, and community organizations to enhance student learning opportunities.
  • Organize field trips, guest speakers, and internship opportunities to expose students to real-world business environments.
  • Administrative Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events as required.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have or be eligible for a CTE license in any area. Licensure information can be found here:NCDPI Licensure.
  • Strong knowledge of business principles, computer applications, and programming languages.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
