Early Childhood Education CTE Teacher

Position Overview

Brown County Schools in Nashville, Indiana is seeking an Indiana licensed educator to teach Ivy Tech Dual Credit courses within our Early Childhood Education Pathway as well as support direction of the Brown County Schools Early Education Center childcare facility.

Education Requirements

Qualified applicants will meet the Ivy Tech Dual Credit ECE program standards through one of the following post-secondary preparation options: 1. An earned master's degree (minimum) from a regionally accredited institution, in early childhood education, child development; or 2. An earned master's degree (minimum) from a regionally accredited institution with 18 graduate credit hours in courses closely related to early childhood education and development, with academic preparation appropriate to the course and /or specialty being taught; and possesses one of the following: a. Professional certification in the field; or b. Two years of directly related work experience in the field of early childhood - birth through age 8.

Summary of Role and Responsibilities

  1. Instruct Brown County High School students enrolled in the Early Childhood Education Pathway in Ivy Tech courses in preparation for earning their Child Care Development Associate Certificate (CDA). 2. Support the daily operation of the Brown County Schools Early Education Center located on the Brown County High School campus. The EEC is a licensed childcare center serving infants, toddlers, and preschool children ages 3-5 years. 3. Support Early Childhood Education Pathway student weekly participation in the Early Education Center classrooms as an integral component of their Ivy Tech coursework. 4. Support the Early Education Center instructional staff including lead teachers, paraprofessionals, and apprentices assuring high quality early care and education for children including those with special needs. 5. Support parental involvement of both ECE Pathway high school students and children attending the Early Education Center for early care and education.
