About CT Mechanical
CT Mechanical, a division of Comfort Temp Company, has been delivering mechanical, plumbing, and pipefitting systems since 2014. With offices in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Orlando, and Tampa, we've built our reputation on integrity, quality work, and a team-first culture that extends into the communities we serve. The Role
We're looking for an organized, motivated Project Engineer to support our Project Management team. This is an entry-level position and a strong starting point for a career in construction project management. You'll gain hands-on experience across the full life of a project, from estimator handoff to closeout, while working closely with Project Managers to keep jobs on schedule, documented, and running smoothly. What You'll Do - Project setup and tracking: Gather project information from Estimators, set up job details in tracking logs, and record vendors, subcontractors, and their purchase order needs.
- Turnover meetings: Schedule and coordinate turnover meetings for mechanical projects in Jacksonville and Gainesville.
- Submittals: Review plans and specifications to build submittal lists, request access to plan-sharing sites, collect submittals from vendors and subcontractors, submit them for approval, and distribute them once returned.
- Materials and equipment: Request and log lead times so Project Managers have current information at hand.
- Procurement: Issue purchase orders and subcontracts, and log all details and change orders in QuickBooks Workforce.
- Owner-Directed Purchases (ODP): Submit ODP requests, track approvals, and manage invoice submissions for owner payment.
- Schedules and revisions: Make sure subcontractors always have the latest job schedule, and keep plan revisions current in both internal and subcontractor files.
- Job log maintenance: Keep the project log up to date on submittals, material releases, POs and subcontracts, signed documents, and approved change orders.
- Insurance compliance: Collect job-specific certificates of insurance from mechanical subcontractors in Jacksonville and Gainesville.
- Closeout and O&M manuals: Assemble operations and maintenance manuals using vendor documents, start-up reports, as-builts, test and balance reports, and warranties. Help schedule owner training when needed.
- Team and client support: Serve as the first point of contact for incoming calls to CT Mechanical and assist Project Managers and Project Administrators with administrative tasks.
What We're Looking For - 0–2 years of experience in project support or coordination, ideally in construction or mechanical contracting
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with QuickBooks Workforce or similar software is a plus
- Strong organization and multitasking skills, clear communication, and a proactive approach to solving problems
