Job Summary
The CU Student Government Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting CU Student Government (CUSG) across its various branches, including the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, Judicial Branch, Election Commission, Joint Boards, and Finance Board. This position is responsible for supporting CU Student Government in various administrative functions, including student leader support, hiring, onboarding and managing student employees and leaders, fiscal review and planning, procurement and CUSG board relations.

CU Student Government (CUSG)
The University of Colorado Student Government (CUSG) is the official governing body of the over 38,000 students at CU Boulder. As the most autonomous student government in the nation, CUSG is responsible for allocating $37 million in student fees to improve the lives of all CU Boulder students. CUSG seeks to make a meaningful impact on the lives of CU Boulder students through advocacy, representation, allocation and legislation.

Student Leader Support
- Post and track student job and leadership opportunity announcements using Handshake and other CU specified avenues.
- Receive, organize, and forward incoming applications to the appropriate hiring committee.
- Inform and provide resources to each member of a hiring committee of CU Boulder's policy on hiring student employees and best practices while conducting an interview.
- Develop and implement position-specific hiring timelines for all CUSG's positions and student leader positions to ensure compliance with university policy.
- Assist in the design and facilitation of training and development for CUSG positions, student staff, and student leader positions.
- Schedule interviews with CUSG branch leaders and appropriate stakeholders.
- Coordinate the submission and approval of student employee timesheets, handling hiring and onboarding processes, exit procedures, and leave reconciliation.
- Supervise and manage departmental student employees.
Administrative Support
- Serve as the CUSG liaison with Student Life Employee Experience Liaison, to ensure payroll is processed for part-time salaried and student employees.
- Work directly with Student Life Employee Experience to hire all student employees and leaders for CUSG, ensuring accurate pay amounts and term dates.
- Assist employees with timekeeping submissions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly and monthly payroll.
- Review and monitor CUSG's student budget with a focus on ensuring staff stays within approved hours and aligns with CU Boulder policy.
- In collaboration with Student Life Employee Experience, troubleshoot payroll issues related to hiring, onboarding, and exit procedures.
- Coordinate onboarding instructions and support for new student staff hires around payroll information, hiring packets, work-study, supervisory change forms, and separating student staff leaving their position.
- Coordinate with Student Life Employee Experience on payroll-related inquiries, hiring transactions, and payment discrepancies.
- Manage users and permissions within relevant software, managing accounts and permissions as necessary.
- Assist other users in troubleshooting issues related to software used by CUSG..
- Coordinate with Office of Financial Aid to understand and address any issues related to the impacts of stipend-based compensation on student leaders.
Fiscal Management
- Conduct high-level fiscal planning and reporting in partnership with the Finance Director, Finance Board Chair, CUSG Advisor, CUSG Office Manager, and Student Life Business & Finance, and CUSG.
- Process purchase orders, standing purchase orders, and procurement for expenditure requests, ensuring compliance with university policies.
- Place orders for office supplies, catering, event-related materials, and other operational needs.
- Handle travel arrangements, reservations, and accommodations for CUSG members.
- Ensure compliance with the Student Fee Regulations and all university policies.
- Ensure all expenditures are appropriately authorized, documented, and reconciled.
- Maintain organized financial records and expenditure files.
Finance Board and Joint Board Relations
- Support the Finance Board Chair and CUSG Office Manager in managing the budget, financial tracking, and financial board processes.
- Coordinate with Student Life Business & Finance to conduct regular check-in meetings and ensure compliance with university policies
- Assist with processing invoices, tracking financial transactions, and entering data into financial systems.
- Serve as a CUSG liaison between Joint Boards attending meetings and meeting with Chairs as necessary
- Assist with Joint Board recruitment and onboarding as needed.
- Assist in the design and facilitation of training and development for Joint Board Chairs and Members
- Update records, ensuring transparency and accessibility for CUSG leadership and Joint Boards.
- Help with website updates related to financial policies, budget allocations, and procurement procedures.

- This is a hybrid work opportunity. The work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday 9:00AM - 5:00 PM, with flextime to attend Finance Board or Joint Board meetings that are later in the evenings.

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, higher education, political science, finance, public administration, human resources, student affairs, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 1 year of professional, administrative, student affairs, human resources, finance, payroll, operations, or related experience.
