Job Duties
The Yvonne B. Miller High School at the Bon Air Juvenile Correctional Center seeks a Culinary Arts Teacher to deliver standards-aligned, research-based instruction in a safe, structured, and culturally responsive classroom.
Responsibilities include planning and teaching competency-based curriculum, supervising students, managing behavior, and maintaining accurate instructional and administrative records in compliance with DJJ and DHRM policies.
The teacher will create an inclusive learning environment that affirms student diversity and uses instructional materials and communication strategies reflecting varied cultural, linguistic, and developmental needs.
The role requires:
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of DJJ and DHRM policies and procedures and the ability to meet DHRM established physical demands.
