About the Culinary Cook Role: The Culinary Cook in the Health Care and Social Assistance industry plays a vital role in preparing nutritious, safe, and appealing meals tailored to the dietary needs of patients, residents, or clients. The cook collaborates closely with dietitians and healthcare staff to ensure meals meet specific medical and cultural requirements. Minimum Qualifications for Culinary Cook: High school diploma or equivalent.Previous experience in a culinary or food preparation role, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting.Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards (e.g., ServSafe certification or equivalent).Ability to follow detailed recipes and dietary instructions accurately.Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks.Experience working with specialized diets such as diabetic, low-sodium, or allergen-free menus.Familiarity with healthcare regulations related to food service.Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams.
