Culinary Supervisor

Full Time

Pay: $22 - $26/hr, based on experience (Salaried position)

The Culinary Supervisor supports our mission and values by providing high quality food service to residents, visitors, and employees.

The Culinary Supervisor primary responsibilities will include:

  • Sets proper examples of showing respect and kindness, and customer service to all residents, guest and co-workers maintains positive attitude.
  • Protects and maintains confidentiality of Brethren Care Village residents, and protects resident rights.
  • Helps coordinate and participates in residence functions, including but not limited to resident family, employee and community events. (Which may entail refreshments, snacks, meals, and catering events.)
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of company policies, and procedures.
  • Responsible for training new staff as well as attending and participating in
  • scheduled staff meetings.
  • Inspects and maintains the dietary areas in a clean, sanitary and safe
  • condition and performs Quality Assurance checks.
  • Schedules department work hours (including vacation and holiday), work
  • assignments. Covers open shifts, as needed.
  • Assist with counseling and disciplinary action of dietary personnel as
  • necessary.
  • Reviews and checks competence of dietary personnel and make necessary
  • adjustments/corrections as necessary.
  • Maintains a productive working relationship with all other departments.
  • Assures that stock levels of staple/non-staple food, supplies, equipment, etc. are maintained at adequate levels at all times. Places food orders weekly and as needed.

What is required in this position?

  • Must have minimum of high school education.
  • Minimum two years of experience in cooking and dining services operations supervision.
  • Maintain all required certification including Serve Safe , First Aid.
