Lead Culinary Excellence as a Culinary Supervisor on Mackinac Island!

Join our exceptional culinary team and help deliver unforgettable dining experiences at Grand Hotel. As a Culinary Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing kitchen operations and supporting our culinary team in delivering exceptional food and service. Your leadership and expertise will help maintain the high standards of dining that define the Grand experience.

We currently are in need of 3 Culinary Supervisors, 1 for each outlet.
  • Wood's Restaurant - Mackinac Island s culinary hideaway chalet, we honor the Midwest legacy of food foraged from field and farm, and the tradition of sharing a variety of wild game, reinvented in our cozy fine dining atmosphere.
  • The Jockey Club - Featuring the only wood-fire grill on Mackinac Island, The Jockey Club at the Grand Stand offers elevated yet casual dining with locally sourced ingredients. Guests enjoy a warm, welcoming atmosphere with cozy indoor spaces and a scenic patio overlooking The Jewel golf course perfect for craft cocktails, great food, and memorable island experiences open to all.
  • Main Dining Room - Overlooking the Straits of Mackinac, the Main Dining Room delivers a high-volume, elevated dining experience rooted in classic technique and refined presentation. From breakfast through the signature Grand Luncheon to an evening five-course rotating menu, the culinary team executes diverse, locally inspired dishes with consistency and precision. With a focus on quality ingredients, evolving menus, and seamless service alongside an award-winning wine program, this is a fast-paced, detail-driven environment where strong leadership and culinary excellence are key.

The Culinary Supervisor will be responsible for preparing, seasoning, and cooking soups, meats, vegetables, desserts, and other food items in a restaurant, directly supervising and coordinating activities of workers engaged in preparing food, consulting with supervising staff to plan menus, and assisting the Chef in relaying instructions to the Kitchen Team when the Chef is not in the kitchen. May supervise up to fifty (50) Cooks and Prep Cooks.


Qualifications
One (1) year of culinary experience in a fine-dining or high-volume environment at a high-end restaurant, resort, or private club required.


Details

This is a seasonal role on Mackinac Island, beginning in early April and continuing through October.

Housing and meals in our onsite cafeteria available at $19.50/day.
