Cultural Affairs Instructor

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Fine Arts, Performing Arts or a related field. Two years of experience in visual arts, performing instruction, music instruction, film arts, or cinematic arts and curriculum/program development. Additional experience in visual arts, performing instruction, music instruction, film arts, or cinematic arts and curriculum/program development may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

This position focuses on delivering instruction in cinematic arts or visual arts, tailored to the program and the Centers specific needs. The instructor creates an engaging, structured learning environment for students with diverse backgrounds and experience levels.

Key responsibilities include developing innovative lesson plans, facilitating both individual and group projects, assessing student performance, and offering constructive feedback to enhance both technical and creative skills. For cinematic arts, areas of focus may encompass directing, cinematography, screenwriting, editing, sound, and visual storytelling. In the visual arts domain, the instructor will cover relevant concepts, techniques, and creative methods. The role may also involve contributing to interdisciplinary events, productions, exhibitions, and other Center-organized activities.

The instructor in this position will utilize strong familiarity with various equipment, materials, and software relevant to their teaching area, ensuring a safe and professional learning atmosphere. Additionally, the incumbent helps shape the Centers overall approach to arts education, working to enrich the artistic experiences of all participants.
