Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Fine Arts, Performing Arts or a related field. Two years of experience in visual arts, performing instruction, music instruction, film arts, or cinematic arts and curriculum/program development. Additional experience in visual arts, performing instruction, music instruction, film arts, or cinematic arts and curriculum/program development may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs is seeking talented and passionate instructors to join our dynamic, community-centered arts education team. Cultural Affairs Instructors play an essential role in shaping meaningful creative experiences for participants of diverse ages, backgrounds, abilities, and experience levels. Instructors create engaging, structured learning environments and support participants' artistic, technical, and personal development through thoughtful, innovative instruction.

We are currently accepting applications for instructors with expertise in one or more of the following artistic disciplines:

• Vocal Music
• Instrumental Music
• Dance
• Theater
• Visual Arts
• Cinematic Arts
• Fashion Arts
• Technical Production

General Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver innovative lesson plans tailored to the program and Center's needs.
• Provide individual and group instruction using appropriate teaching methods, techniques, and practices for the applicable artistic discipline.
• Assess student progress and offer constructive feedback to strengthen technical proficiency, artistic development, creativity, and confidence.
• Support preparation for showcases, recitals, exhibitions, performances, interdisciplinary events, and other Center-organized activities and productions, as applicable to the discipline.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and professional learning environment.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of techniques, tools, equipment, terminology, teaching practices, artistic concepts, and industry or performance practices relevant to the area of instruction.
• Promote appropriate and safe use of techniques, materials, tools, equipment, and performance practices associated with the discipline.
• Collaborate with Center staff and other instructors, as needed, to support interdisciplinary programming and participant engagement.
• Contribute to the Center's overall approach to arts education by helping create enriching, accessible, and meaningful artistic experiences for participants.
