BROAD STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Career and Technical Education (CTE) Curriculum Coordinator provides support for program evaluation and improvement to CTE instructors and programs and coordinates regulatory and data collection activities for Career and Technical Education programs for the Kent Career Tech Center.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of four years of high school teaching experience required; Career and Technical Education teaching experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, align, evaluate, and improve curriculum.
  • Effective communication skills with an emphasis on active listening.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with instructors, administrators, and external partners.
  • Ability to analyze and solve complex, multi-step problems.
  • Ability to collect, interpret, and utilize data to support program improvement.
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedural documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with culturally diverse student populations including special population students.
  • Proficiency with computer-based productivity software and web-based information systems.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Curriculum, Educational Leadership, or related field.
  • Previous Career and Technical Education (CTE) teaching experience.
  • Experience with state and federal CTE reporting systems, including CTEIS and GEMS.
  • Experience facilitating professional development and staff training.
  • Experience teaching high school level math or math related courses

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum development and alignment work with instructors to identify and establish excellence, innovation, and areas of need.
  • Align CTE curriculum with state program standards and labor market needs.
  • Provide training and collaborate with instructors on teaching and learning practices in the classroom.
  • Provide support and direction for program evaluation and improvement to establish and maintain high quality programing.
  • Support and maintain KCTC program coordination and curriculum articulation with postsecondary agencies.
  • Be responsible for promoting and/or providing CTE in-service activities for personnel.
  • Initiate and/or guide positive system changes and staff development for the CTE functions, roles, and responsibilities.
  • Participate in state-sponsored in-services, meetings, and conferences to remain current in the OCTE policy, procedures, and requirements.
  • Coordinate and conduct staff training for CIP Self review requirements.
  • Collaborate on the use of web-based information systems: CTEIS, GEMs, etc.
  • Coordinate Regional Improvement Plan/Strategic Plan Implementation.
  • Support the integration of core content within CTE programs.
  • Accepts additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Administration.

Salary:

Per KIEA Master Agreement, Steps 1-5 listed; additional steps negotiable based on education and

relevant experience. Placement on the salary scale will be commensurate with an applicant's academic degree and the

number of years' experience in a particular specialization, or in an approved related field, per Master

Agreement

BA = $54,386-$66,017

BA+18 = $58,254-$68,793

MA= $61,581-$73,232

MA+15 = $64,357-$76,564

MA+30 = $67,130-$79,339
