Essex North Shore is seeking a part-time 20-hours per week CustodianMaintenance Worker. Hours for this role are from 11-3pm Monday-Friday. Must be available for snow removal on weekends and evenings.
Benefits eligible position. Satisfactory CORI SAFIS and SORI required. Bilingual preferred. This position is part of the collective bargaining agreement CBA with AFSCME Local 245. The CBA can be accessed on the District website.

CustodianMaintenance Worker
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Drivers License Must have at least two years experience in a custodial maintenance position Must possess a high school diploma Must possess knowledge of methods, materials, and practices in building custodial maintenance work, including proper use and care of custodial equipment Experience in one or more of the following areas preferred: • Basic electrical • Carpentry • Plumbing • Equipment repair • Painting • Cleaning • Other related maintenance areas Must be able to work independently

Today: Shift Custodial Maintenance Supervisor
RESPONSIBILITIES
Report to the Day Shift Custodial Maintenance Supervisor, who is responsible for the direction of housekeeping services in the facility.
Clean and sanitize restrooms and bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
Clean, dust, and wipe furniture, sweep, mop, or vacuum floors, empty, clean wastebaskets and trash containers, replace light bulbs, refill restroom dispensers.
Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors. Vacuum and shampoo carpets.
Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed buffers, and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
Wash walls and equipment. Use ladders when required in work assignments.
Lock and unlock assigned buildings. Secure building when facilities are not in use, checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.
Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.
Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.
Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.
Wash accessible interior and exterior windows.
Clean blinds.
Launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
Assist in the painting of buildings and structures.
Pick up and deliver mail when requested.
Handle recycling materials.
Call in work orders.
Assist in the instruction and supervision of student help if appropriate.
Assist with inventory control and security.
Safely operate all vehicles and other job-related equipment if required.
Assist in troubleshooting and repair of equipment as needed.
Assist in snow removal, shoveling, salting, and sanding.
Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities not inconsistent with the role as the Second Shift Custodial Maintenance Supervisor or the Director of Facilities, Farm, and Grounds may assign.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a twelve-month position at 20 hours per week.
This position is part of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees Council 93 Local 245 and the School District.
