Job Posting: Utility Custodian

Location: Orange Public Schools, 637 Orange Center Rd, Orange, CT

Responsibilities/Description:

The Orange Board of Education is looking for a Utility Custodian/Courier. This individual will:

  • Deliver mail inside and outside of the school district
  • Perform light maintenance, as needed
  • Assist in the overall cleaning of the interior and exterior of our schools
  • Be the first replacement for custodial coverage once the "full-time" custodians refuse,

per contract (day or night shift) which includes, but is not limited to, performing all

custodial duties required for maintaining assigned rooms, equipment, buildings, and

adjacent areas in a clean, orderly, and secure manner, as well as removing snow from

sidewalks and walkways, and dispensing ice-melt, as needed

  • Be the first to cover during the winter for snow removal in the absence of full-time

custodians

  • Be willing to perform any other job duties necessary as required by the Facilities

Director or the Superintendent.

Requirements:

  • Individual must be able to maintain a cooperative working relationship with all those contacted in the course of work.
  • Individual must possess a valid motor vehicle operators license.
  • Be able to lift/move up to 100 pounds

Salary: This is a union position, 30 hours per week, $21.99 per hour.
