Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Supervisor oversees housekeeping functions for multiple office buildings and the medical center. Responsible for daily supervision. Ensure housekeeping/maintenance standards of meeting and exceeding customer expectations are kept. Provide on-the-job training to staff, including proper use of chemicals and equipment, and ensure compliance with published safety standards.

Salary Range: $26.92 - $50.86 / Hourly

Job Qualifications

  • Must have a knowledge of effective cleaning techniques and routine preventive maintenance.

  • Exhibits proficiency with all techniques and equipment used in department, i.e., floor machine, automatic floor scrubbers, vacuums, floor sanders to prepare wood floor for refinishing.

  • Ability to express ideas clearly, both orally and in writing.

  • Provides effective decisions by clear and logical thinking.

  • Ability to plan, train and provide work direction to other in a manner that is conducive to full performance and high morale of the employee.

  • Recognizes needs and suggests and/or makes recommendations for change to Superintendent.

  • Willingly seeks assistance from Superintendent in difficult situations.

  • Needs to be self-motivated.

  • Read and review articles and magazines related to the Environmental Services issues.

  • Maintains and has a positive and helpful attitude with patients, visitors, and staff.

  • Responds to and resolves complaints with a sense of urgency.

  • Works under constantly changing environment, sometimes under stressful conditions.

  • Adheres to Department and University Attendance Policy and Guidelines.

  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach and climb stairs and ladders for long periods of times.

As a condition of employment, the final candidate who accepts an offer of employment will be required to disclose if they have been subject to any final administrative or judicial decisions within the last seven years determining that they committed any misconduct; or have filed an appeal of a finding of substantiated misconduct with a previous employer.
