Custodial Worker (Accepting Applications)

Job Description:

Ensuring that the University is neat and safe as well as accomplishing this in a timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs routine and comprehensive custodial maintenance of assigned facilities.
• Vacuums, shampoos and spot cleans carpets and furniture as needed; washes windows.
• Removes trash in accordance with established procedures.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms, locker rooms, and other facilities as specified; stocks facilities with paper and supplies.
• Reports and responds to emergency calls for custodial assistance.
• Identifies stains and uses proper chemicals for removal.
• Maintains inventory and submits written requests for supplies; tests and evaluates new supplies and equipment.

Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:

• Experience with stripping and waxing the floors and shampooing carpets may be required
• Must be familiar with and adhere to all the safety rules and regulations of the College safety policy which apply to the work environment.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.
• Must be able to work in adverse conditions.
• Must be able to work under pressure and with short deadlines.
• Over time on weekends may be required.
• Must be able to work on feet all day.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Minimum Pay Rate: $15.00/hour
