Description Benefits About this Job LSU Health New Orleans Division of Property and Facilities is seeking motivated applicants for the position of Custodian 1 or 2 Overnight Floor Care. There are multiple positions available.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties: • properly use appropriate floor care equipment as needed • burnish or spray buff resilient tile floors to maintain a clean and shiny appearance • strip and re-finish resilient tile floors to establish the clean and shiny appearance • shampoo carpets • deep scrub ceramic tile floors, tile grout and wall bases • perform daily preventive maintenance pre-checks on equipment for safety, appropriate usage and general operating condition • follow all established and recommended procedures for the safe and effective operation of the following equipment: • backpack vacuums, wide-area vacuums, electric pressure washers, rotary floor machines, walk-behind floor burnishers, floor grout machines, wet vacuums, automatic walk-behind floor scrubbers, automatic riding floor scrubbers and canister cleaning systems • clean all doors, door glass and door handles on both sides to remove all residue from floor care work • clean walls to remove all residue from floor care work • perform event set-up requests • clean after events and reset space (as needed)

Position-Specific Details: These positions are part of a Career Progression Group (CPG). As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a (Custodian 1 or 2) depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s). Compensation: Starting rate of pay for a Custodian 1 is $10 and Custodian 2 is $10.70 per hour. There is also an additional $1 Shift Differential and Pay $1 Longevity pay for hours worked only. Rate may be increased depending on applicants' qualifications.
