    Description

    Viterbo University is seeking a 3rd- Shift Custodian to assist in ensuring the standards of cleanliness on the campus. The Custodian position keeps the premises of campus buildings, which includes residence halls, apartments, theatres, academic, and athletic buildings in clean and orderly condition. This is a full-time position eligible for all employee benefits, including a full tuition remission program. The schedule for this position is Sunday- Thursday 11:00pm- 7:30am during the academic year and Monday- Friday 7am-3pm during the summer.

    Responsibilities:

    Including, but not limited to, cleaning and maintaining classrooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, theatres, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, gym facilities, locker rooms, and other assigned areas.

    • Sweep, scrub, wash, and burnish floors.
    • Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas and upholstered furniture.
    • Dust and clean office furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
    • Clean walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and window sills.
    • Empty wastebaskets and remove trash and recyclable materials.
    • Transport trash and waste to designated disposal areas.
    • Replenish restroom and custodial supplies as needed.
    • Move office, residence hall, and classroom furniture as needed.
    • Unlock, secure, and monitor designated doors and buildings.
    • Perform minor maintenance tasks as assigned.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Custodial Services Supervisor.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Three months of related experience and/or training.

    Physical Requirements:

    This position requires regular standing, walking, hand use, reaching, and communication, as well as frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must be able to lift up to 10 pounds regularly, 25 pounds frequently, and 50 pounds occasionally. University-provided uniform tops and required equipment must be worn throughout the school year. Work may occur in small office or dorm spaces, and some summer work areas may not be air-conditioned.
