Job Overview:

The Custodian dusts/cleans sensitive areas/rooms such as data centers, interior high-level piping/equipment and general custodian assignments.  The tasks include utilizing and incorporating innovative methods, best industry practices, and green cleaning processes when applicable for raised floor cleaning, subfloor cleaning, anti-static floor finishing and ultra-low particulate vacuuming.  All work shall be completed in accordance with good housekeeping standards, the Association of Data Center Cleaning Professionals, OSHA and ASHRAE. 

 

 

Pay Rate: $25.50 / hour 

Responsibilities:

Essential Job Duties:

  • Dust and clean identified areas per the cleaning g schedule and applicable industry standards.
  • Accurately and timely document work in accordance with procedures and management instructions.
  • Coordinate times, access and other accommodations with customer to minimize disruption of normal business activities.
  • Report scheduling challenges with management to decrease and avoid late work completion.
  • Utilize appropriate supplies and tools applicable to cleaning task, i.e. low lent material, non-marking rubber, protective bumpers, non-conductive, low speed scrubbers, non-ammoniated chemicals, etc.
  • Report all safety concerns and act accordingly, i.e. damaged entry mats.
  • Perform all work in a manner that does not damage customer or company property.
  • Utilize only chemicals pre-approved by the customer and company.
  • Strip and refinish vinyl composition tile (VCT).
  • Respond to emergency situations as directed or needed.
  • Remove trash and recycling from applicable areas.
  • Clean all work areas during and upon completing tasks to reduce safety concerns and customer work disruptions.
  • Assist to maintain custodian equipment, inventory and tools.
  • Provide assistance to other employees, i.e. training, escorting, etc.
  • Effectively practice all safety and security protocols and practices.
  • Prepare cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Move material, equipment and furniture as needed to perform work tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:

Mandatory:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year experience of similar commercial cleaning experience, i.e. sensitive areas, data centers.
  • Experience utilizing cleaning and waxing compounds, floor buffers and custodial equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of specialty cleaning, i.e. HPL floors, VCT, ULPA, anti-static floor finishes, subfloors, ladder/lift use.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience of proper safety techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions and make routine decisions independently.
  • Ability to sustain long periods of light to moderately heavy physical activity.
  • Ability to perform tasks at high and low heights, i.e. under raised floors, on ladders/scaffolding.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to pass pre-hire background and drug screen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the required intelligence community level clearance.
  • U. S. Citizenship.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work additional hours and shift work as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently and team lift 75 pounds.
