Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Custodian maintains assigned school facilities, buildings, or office spaces in a clean, orderly, and secure manner following a predetermined schedule. This role ensures a safe, hygienic, and operational environment for students, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Facility Cleaning: Sweeps, mops, strips, waxes, and seals floors; vacuums carpets; dusts and polishes furniture; washes windows, walls, and restrooms. Waste & Debris Management: Empties and cleans waste receptacles; picks up litter and debris from school grounds and adjacent concrete walkways. Event Setup: Moves and arranges furniture and equipment to prepare classrooms or multi-purpose rooms for special events and meetings. Minor Maintenance: Replaces light bulbs, lighting tubes, and furnace filters; performs minor maintenance tasks on boilers and assigned areas to keep them safe and operational. Security & Emergency Response: Locks/unlocks doors and gates, sets security systems, raises/lowers flags, and performs emergency cleanups (vandalism, spills, illness). Position #307 & #314 combined

Pass the BSD pre-employment DOJ/FBI Live Scan Fingerprinting & TB Testing. All offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, which includes, but is not limited to, fingerprint clearance through the Department of Justice and the FBI
