Custodian/Grounds Position - 1st Shift

Job Goal:

The goal is to keep our buildings and grounds clean, safe, and orderly.

Responsibilities:

• Clean, stock, and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.)
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
• Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
• Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
• Make adjustments and minor repairs
• Stock and maintain supply rooms
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff
• Follow all health and safety regulations
• Maintain grounds, including mowing, trimming, and edging lawns and landscaped areas
• Perform snow and ice removal from sidewalks, entrances, and parking areas
• Maintain athletic fields and outdoor facilities as needed
• Perform general upkeep of grounds equipment, including minor maintenance and repairs
• Remove litter and debris from school grounds

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Able to lift, push, pull, and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25lbs and occasionally +25lbs.
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
• Able to kneel, bend, and crawl.
• Able to squat and crouch.
• Able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
