Custodian

Our client, a dedicated organization committed to maintaining safe and welcoming facilities, is seeking a Custodian to join their team. As a Custodian, you will be an essential part of the Facilities Support team supporting the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, strong communication skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Custodian

Location: Hempstead, NY

Pay Range: $24.50 - $25.00/hr 

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM 

Duration: temp-to-Hire

What's the Job?

• Perform a variety of custodial duties to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the facilities
• Maintain and organize warehouse areas, assisting with donation pickups and transportation
• Assist donors by safely transporting donations and providing receipts
• Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including sweeping, mopping, disinfecting, and trash removal
• Support safety inspections and report any mechanical or safety issues promptly
• Driving clients to other locations as needed
• Learning to operator Forklift/ Hi-lo to assist with unloading deliveries 

What's Needed?

• 1 year of custodial experience
• Valid New York State Driver’s License
• Willingness to be trained in specialized equipment such as Hi-lo and forklift
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork and safety
