JOB SUMMARY The position involves performing manual work in cleaning and related activities. Work involves a variety of housekeeping tasks performed under close supervision. Work is assigned and performed in accordance with established routines. Instructions from supervisors are specific in nature and work is subject to close inspection during progress or upon completion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Performs manual tasks in mopping scrubbing dusting polishing and similar housekeeping tasks. • Dusts and cleans offices and exercises care in assuring materials are not defaced damaged or destroyed. • Cleans restrooms and fixtures and also replenishes supplies. • Cleans dust and dirt from ceiling walls pipes fixtures floors and windows. • Strips cleans waxes and polishes floors. • Operates various powered equipment i.e. mechanical scrubbers polishers washers in performance of assigned duties. • Cleans wards and resident areas. • Cleans contaminated areas using such protective clothing devices and agents as designated. • Performs simple non-skilled maintenance to area and equipment. • Performs work at assigned location during specified business hours. • Performs related additional duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience • High School Diploma or equivalent. • One 1 year of experience or education sufficient to enable an individual to understand and follow verbal or written instructions. • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licenses or Certifications Valid Drivers License
Special Requirements • Many situations may require working weekends early morning and late evening hours.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities • Knowledge of materials methods and equipment used in housekeeping work. • Ability to understand and follow simple oral and written instructions. • Ability to perform a variety of routine manual tasks in the care cleaning and general maintenance of building and equipment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The work is heavy and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally andor negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body. The work also requires mental and visual acuity speaking balancing climbing crawling crouching feeling picking pinching typing or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand grasping picking holding or otherwise working with the whole hand hearing kneeling pulling pushing reaching repetitive motion standing stooping talking and walking.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The work is performed indoors in an office environment with low to moderate noise level and in confined areas i.e. around bathroom fixtures. The work may occasionally be performed outdoors in various weather conditions of below 20 degrees Fahrenheit above 100 degrees Fahrenheit mud rain snow or sleet with some exposure to direct sunlight on rough undeveloped terrain conditions. Individuals in this position will be exposed to dusty workspaces with dangerous equipment and some irritating or hazardous materials. This position involves interaction with other employees and the general public and work pace is self-determined.
