What You'll Do
- Clean and sanitize offices, restrooms, break rooms, hallways, classrooms, common areas, and other facility spaces.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
- Empty trash and recycling containers and dispose of waste appropriately.
- Replenish restroom and facility supplies, including soap, paper towels, toilet tissue, and cleaning products.
- Clean windows, mirrors, glass surfaces, and entryways.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and carpet cleaners.
- Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, damages, or repair needs to appropriate personnel.
- Assist with room setups, furniture movement, and special event preparations as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures regarding the handling, storage, and use of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
- Maintain inventory of custodial supplies and notify management of replenishment needs.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health regulations, and workplace safety standards.
- Perform seasonal and deep-cleaning activities as assigned.
- Assist with exterior cleaning, or grounds maintenance when required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1 year of previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facility maintenance experience required.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and follow Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and interact professionally with building occupants and visitors.
- Dependable attendance and reliability.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and reach frequently.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate custodial equipment and tools safely.
- Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in office buildings, schools, healthcare facilities, manufacturing facilities, or other assigned locations.
- May require evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday shifts.
- Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
