- Sweeps, mops, polishes and strips floors in rooms and halls.
- Dusts and/or polishes furniture, blinds and equipment.
- Vacuums, spot cleans and/or extracts carpets, and furniture using commercial vacuum cleaners and extraction equipment.
- Assures all safety precautions are followed in the workplace.
- Cleans restrooms and fills dispensaries. This includes emptying trash cans, restocking of paper towels, toilet paper, and soap.
- Mopping of bathroom floors using housekeeping chemicals.
- Reports malfunctions of bathroom fixtures, light fixtures and/or damages to room and hall furnishings to Supervisor. May also replace light bulbs.
- Initiates work orders for repair/maintenance.
- Moves furniture, equipment or fixtures as required.
- Stocks area with appropriate supplies.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge and ability to properly use custodial equipment.
- Ability to use machinery such as vacuums, floor buffers, and pressure washers.
- Communicates effectively in a professional manner.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and lift 50 lbs.
