Custodian II (2nd Shift)

The School District of Whitefish Bay has an opening for a full-time Custodian II to work 2nd shift in our High School/Field House. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position.

WORK HOURS: 2nd Shift, Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m. - 11:30 p.m.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Dust, mop, strip and wax floors, hallways and stairs
• Vacuum and shampoo carpeting
• Sweep, clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, showers and locker rooms, as required
• Clean, dust and polish furniture and woodwork
• Move and deliver furniture, equipment, supplies and UPS packages, as required
• Remove snow from entrances and adjacent areas, including the walkway from the sidewalk to the door entrance and apply granulated material (such as salt and sand) as required to these areas and spot salt/sand the parking lots
• Perform minor maintenance to buildings and equipment
• Lock and unlock buildings and classrooms
• Load and unload supplies and materials
• Basic understanding, operation and maintenance of boilers and heating systems
• Police grounds adjacent to buildings including athletic and playground areas
• Submit work orders to immediate supervisor for equipment and facilities needing repair or replacement
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Sweep debris from entrances and adjacent areas, including the walkways from the sidewalk to the door entrance
• Setting up and taking down for athletic events
• Perform other custodial responsibilities as assigned

Reasonable and reliable attendance is a requirement of this position/job. The final candidate must successfully complete/pass a criminal background check, pre-employment requirements (physical, TB screen, lift test, etc.), and hiring paperwork.
