Custodian/Janitor

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Purpose: Responsible for cleaning of specific areas of the plant and performing other maintenance-related activities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

• Ensure a clean & safe work environment for self and others. Follows all safety rules and regulations. Demonstrate commitment to safety program
• Cleaning of restrooms, office areas, lunchroom, and other common areas
• Emptying of garbage containers and recycle bins as needed
• Maintain inventory of cleaning, toiletry, and lunch room supplies
• Empty, clean, refill mop buckets where applicable
• Promote a positive atmosphere. Actively support activities that promote the welfare and morale of TEAM employees
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous janitoral/custodian work preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Valid and current MN driver's license where applicable
• Ability to communicate with a variety of people, including outside vendors
• Ability to prioritize and schedule cleaning activities throughout the day, week, month, etc.
• Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures
• Must be able to operate, walk-behind and riding, floor scrubbers and barnishers
• Must be able to operate scissor lifts and forklifts
• Must be able to perform duties without direct supervision
• Regular attendance

Training:

• Reference OJT

Physical Demands

• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 lbs., rarely lifting up to 70 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 100% of shift
• Ability to do repetitive motions, i.e. bending, twisting, walking, crouching
• Ability to work at elevated heights
• Ability to climb ladders
• Abilit to continuously operate a minimum of 3 hours
