Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Performs housekeeping and janitorial duties to maintain assigned offices, restrooms, public areas and/or residence locations. Assist with general labor and minor repair tasks for University buildings and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Cleans assigned buildings including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, collecting trash and wiping waste and recycling receptacles • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, showers, and locker rooms and replenishes paper towels and soap dispensers • Collects, launders and dries mop heads and cleaning rags • Waxes and refinishes floors, and shampoos carpets as assigned • Maintains clean and operating equipment • Inspects equipment and recommends the need for new parts, repairs, overhaul or replacement • Restocks supply closets and replenishes paper supplies in restrooms, etc. • Completes work order requests timely during emergencies • Reports building discrepancies and damages in timely manner • Uses required safety and protective equipment

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications: An undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field Preferred Experience: Customer service experience, Cleaning experience

ABILITIES

• Able to work with others in small and large teams • Able to read and use diagrams and design layouts to set up rooms for events • Able to work non-traditional shifts including nights and weekends • Follows established routine and performs cleaning as instructed • Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of Materials Safety Data Sheets and Personal Protective Equipment, and awareness of safety protocols

SKILLS

• Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills • Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) • Strong attention to detail and follow up skills • Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette

Other Information

This is not a supervisory position. This position does not have any financial responsibilities. This position will be required to drive. This role is considered a position of trust. This position does not require a purchasing card (P-Card). This position may travel 1% - 24% of the time. This position does not require security clearance.

Background Check
