Upper Montclair is a private 27-hole golf club located 9 miles West of New York City. The
course was originally designed by A.W. Tillinghast in 1929. In the 1950's, a major course
renovation was directed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. which transformed Upper Montclair Country
Club into its present 27-hole Championship design. Upper Montclair Country Club has a strong
tradition of producing championship conditions and is considered to be one of the best private
clubs in northern New Jersey.
Description
Upper Montclair Country Club (UMCC) is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall appearance of our facilities. Position Details:
Schedule: Part-Time, Night Shift (PM hours)
Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Benefits: This position is not benefits-eligible
What You'll Do:
In this role, you'll help ensure our club remains a clean, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for our members and staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Performing routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout the facility
- Moving and arranging tables, chairs, and other equipment as needed
- Assisting with basic painting and upkeep projects
- Performing light maintenance and minor repairs
- Repairing equipment or appliances when needed
- Supporting general facility upkeep and responding to urgent maintenance requests
- Taking on additional tasks or special projects as assigned
What We're Looking For:- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Experience using hand tools and power tools preferred
- Basic understanding of electrical systems is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
- Good communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed
- Reliable, organized, and punctual
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
Availability Requirements:- Must be able to work evening (PM) shifts
- Weekend and holiday availability is required
