Primary Purpose
Normandy Schools Collaborative is looking for Custodians. Perform a variety of custodial functions that will maintain a clean, healthy, and safe work environment, including:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Keeps equipment clean and in good working order. Assumes the responsibility for opening or closing or securing the building each school day. Shampoos carpets and remove soiled spots. Checks daily to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly during the hours of building occupancy. Follows and maintains a cleaning schedule that will include the cleaning of floors, chalkboards, wastebaskets, windows, furniture, equipment, and restrooms. Keeps the school building and grounds, including sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and play areas, neat and clean. Observes and informs supervisor of safety hazards. Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash. Makes minor building repairs as needed and reports major repairs needed to the principal. Inspects machines and equipment for safety and efficiency. Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and orders additional supplies as needed. Moves furniture or equipment within the building as directed by the principal and/or supervisor. Follows all safety codes and standards.

Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent Knowledge of basic techniques of minor repairs and building and grounds maintenance Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures Ability to pass Basic Skills Test
