Overview

The Institutional Services for the Test Facilities Operation, Maintenance and Engineering (TFOME) contract at the NASA Glenn Research Center, Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility in Sandusky, Ohio is searching for an individual to perform custodial services for work areas, washrooms, offices, and commercial buildings or other establishments.

Responsibilities

Custodians are responsible for:

  • Cleaning, and keeping in an orderly condition, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Washing windows, door panels, and sills, cleaning and polishing lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, trim, and metalwork.
  • Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, and polishing floors.
  • Emptying wastebaskets and transporting trash and waste to the disposal area.
  • Replenishing custodial and cleaning supplies.
  • Other duties as required, may be required to shovel walk ways.
  • Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of cleaning supplies.
  • Ability to work while bending, standing, stooping, kneeling, or in a prone position for extended time periods.
  • Ability to lift/carrry items sometimes up and down stairways and push/pull heavy objects.
  • Ability to use PPE, hearing, and vision protection.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions, high and low temperatures, indoors and outdoors, in hot, humid, dusty, noisy, dirty, and greasy environments, as well as, areas where there may be materials that are irritating to eyes, nose, throat, and skin while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. It may also require working in closely confined spaces.
